We were doing a food crawl through the numerous (and my numerous, I mean hundreds) food carts that downtown PDX had to offer the last day before we headed back to sunny CA.
After we had just placed an order for a burger inbetween two texas toast grilled-cheese sandwiches from BrunchBoxx, my partner, sister-in-law, and niece strolled down the street to see what the other food carts were all about. Enter Bro-Dog. They stumbled across this food cart and I think they began to drool over the menu options. I mean, how could you go wrong with a jalapeno and cheddar cheese-stuffed hot dog, and to it add all sorts of yummy goodness like macaroni & cheese, grilled onion, pastrami, mushrooms, and etc?!
Bro-Dog has numerous hot dog options for a really good prices. It’s cheap good eats with prices ranging from $4 to $7 dollars, with an extra dollar if you add mac & Cheese. Now some might think that’s a little pricey for a hot dog, but trust me, these are just hot dogs! The hot dogs are HUGE, and when you add all the good stuff to it, it weights about 5 pounds! You’d be better off sharing it with another person. Actually, make that two more persons. There’s the “DUDE!!!” hot dog with a smoked bacon cheddar sausage with bacon, cheddar, mushrooms, onion, garlic, cream cheese and two kinds of BBQ sauce. Did you read all of that? Isn’t that insane?! It only gets better. There’s also the Reuban (polish & pastrami), chicken apple sausage, polish sausage, chicken apple, jalapeno cheddar dog, and the bro-dog classic. Oh, and for the non-meat eaters, there is a vegan “kiebosa” option. And as I had eluded to earlier, you can also add stuff to the hot dog with no extra charge (unless it’s the mac & cheese that you want). You can add grilled onions, mushrooms, sauerkraut, jalapeno peppers, garlic, and cream cheese. To it, you can also add cheddar, american, cream cheese, or swiss. And you can add ALL of those toppings, or whatever your eyes/stomach desires.
So not only did we order a heart-attack-waiting-to-happen cheese burger, but they also ordered a jalapeno and cheddar cheese hot dog with mac & cheese, grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms, cheese, and sauerkraut. Oh, they most certainly did. It was the mother of quadruple bypasses. I didn’t know if I should just take myself to the ER afterwards, or what. But I was giddy with our food crawl options.
It was cheap, greasy goodness. We were so happy that we stumbled across Bro-Dog during our food crawl!
